Joel Christopher has stepped down from his role as executive editor of the Courier Journal in Louisville, Ky. to become executive editor at the Knoxville (Tenn.) News Sentinel. He succeeds Jack McElroy, who has retired after a 43-year journalism career. Christopher began his career in 1997 at the Wausau (Wis.) Daily Herald.
