One new plant has begun operations and another has been announced in Knox County.

FIA Corp., a division of Japan's Futaba, built a $10 million, 125,000-square foot facility in the new Vincennes Commons/U.S.41 Industrial Park, where it makes internal doorframes for Princeton's Toyota plant. Employment, originally projected to be about 70, already tops 115 and that will soon jump to 140.

"It's rewarding to see the first tenant in our industrial park exceed both our and its own expectations," says Gary Gentry, president of the Knox County Development Corp.

Another 200 acres are available in the park.
