With the click of a computer mouse, Gov. Tony Knowles recently inaugurated the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's online licensing system by purchasing his sport-fishing license over the Internet.

"Purchasing a fishing or hunting license just got a whole lot easier," Knowles said. "Now that the Department of Fish and Game entered the world of e-commerce, anyone with an Internet connection and a credit card can purchase fishing and hunting licenses, and even tags and commercial crew licenses through the department's Web site."
