In 1988 in Vail, then-bartender Mike Lynagh began playing an old dice game (which apparently has roots in 17th century France) with his customers. On a wooden board with tiles numbered from one to nine, players take turns rolling and taking down tiles that match the result of their roll. The player that gets the closest to zero is the winner. "The game itself is really catchy," Lynagh said. "It's certainly not a computer game -- it's very simple."
