The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel opened in April in the 22-story Reynolds Building, the former headquarters of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. The art deco-themed hotel has 174 rooms and 6,300 square feet of space for meetings and banquets, and The Katharine, a French-inspired restaurant named after Reynolds' wife, opened in May.
