MENTORS My father was a thorough professional, ethical and always concerned with quality and price. My friend Bob Burk, now a consultant, spent most of his career as a business owner and CEO. He coached my people and "office politics" skills and helped me keep perspective when I felt things were progressing too slowly or too fast.

LEISURE I enjoy being outdoors, going on walks with my kids and taking them on day trips. I also am writing a book about my family history. On Sunday, we attend church as a family and enjoy a day of rest from the busy week.

FAVORITE SPORTS TEAMS The Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team, Oklahoma State football (Go Cowboys!) and, of course, any team my kids are playing on.

TIME MANAGEMENT I make lists, prioritize and plan to manage my time well. And I resist the urge for me or my family to become over-committed.

FAVORITE BOOK The 5,000 Year Leap, by W.C. Skousen. It discusses the principles of freedom the Founding Fathers said must be understood to perpetuate peace, prosperity and freedom.

FAVORITE MUSIC Classic rock and contemporary Christian.

IF I COULD, I'D SPEND AN HOUR WITH Abe Lincoln, so he could tell me about his struggle to abolish slavery.

HEROES Eddie Van Halen, brilliant rock guitarist, and George Washington, father of our country.
