The Annual Juneteenth Celebration is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery. 14 Alaska Run for Women

Arctic Thunder is Elmendorf Air Force Base's annual open house and air show. Historically, ArcticThunder has been the largest two-day event in Alaska. The base hosts Arctic Thunder to demonstrate its appreciation to the Alaska community for its support of the military, to educate the public about the military's mission and to recruit people interested in joining the service. There are more than just planes. Arctic Thunder 2008 will have games, food and fun.
