4 Independence Day Celebration
This celebration takes place at the Delaney Park Strip from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 4. Activities feature a combination of patriotic celebrations, cultural showcases, and 8 a.m. pancake breakfast, 11 a.m. parade and the reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1 p.m. For more information, call 907-279-7500.
5, 12, 19, 26 Port of Anchorage Tours
Bring the family and enjoy a tour of the Port that brings 90 percent of the goods to 80 percent of Alaska's population. Free hour-long bus tours of the Port of Anchorage will be offered every Sunday in July, on the half hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and departing from Alaska Railroad corporate offices at 327 West Ship Creek Avenue. The tours include a drive through the Port of Anchorage to see the expansion project progress with a stop at Port offices for an observation deck view of ships loading and off-loading cargo bound for Anchorage and the rest of Alaska. 11 Alaska Spirit Run
