May Board Action Summary
For your information, the HSBA Board took the following actions at its meeting in May:
• Voted to send comments to the Hawaii Supreme Court that it supports the proposed amendment to Rule 2.22(a)(7)(B) that would clarify that private informal admonitions would be treated in the same manner as private reprimands for the purposes of confidentiality;
•Approved the recommendation of the Executive Committee to forward the request for $1,500.00 for the October 23, 2014 Pro Bono Celebration to the Hawaii State Bar Foundation as a grant request for consideration and action;
•Approved the recommendation of the Executive Committee that President Calvin Young accept the invitation of the AJS-Hawaii Chapter to participate as a member of their Judicial Selection, Retention, and Accountability Committee.
2015 HSBA Board Nominees
In accordance with Article VII, Section 3, of the HSBA Constitution and Bylaws, a committee has made nominations for officer and director positions of the HSBA Board and publishes its list of nominees below. Ballots will be distributed in mid- to late September, and the election results will be announced at the 2014 Annual Meeting at the Bar Convention.
HSBA members of active status may also be nominated by written petition signed by at least 20 regular members and submitted to the HSBA Board Secretary in care of the HSBA, 1100 Alakea Street, Suite 1000, Honolulu, HI 96813, within fifteen days of the publication date (the date this issue is received at the HSBA office).

Openings on HSBF Board and Access to Justice Commission
The Hawaii State Bar Foundation ("HSBF") and the Hawaii Access to Justice Commission ("ATJC") will have positions expiring in December. General qualifications for these positions include an affirmative interest in the organization and a willingness and ability to devote their time to perform necessary duties. Candidates must be conscientious, studious, thorough, and diligent in learning methods and problems of the organization.
