Make the decision today to join hundreds of franchise companies that are making a dramatic two-for-one contribution: they are building the economic future of military veterans and the franchising industry. Consider adding your company to the "VetFran" list.
How can your franchise system stand out from among its competitors? What can a particular franchise system offer that captures the imagination of prospective investors, especially those who are military veterans?
Nearly 250 companies have answered that question by currently participating in the International Franchise Association's Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative known as "VetFran." Participating companies agree to offer veterans financial incentives to help lower their up-front cash outlay. This program benefits military veterans who are interested in operating their own small businesses. These veterans are ideal candidates because of their military background from which they gained experience working as team members within a highly-structured system, which is the model that most franchises use and they are very mission-focused.
The program utilizes the strength of the franchising industry. IFA doesn't receive any government money for the VetFran program; it's the private sector helping the veterans and is entirely voluntary and supported by association members. The IFA Web site, www.franchise.org, features company profiles and the financial incentives that they offer to veterans.
