Revisiting a 1951 classic (El De La Rumba Soy Yo) originally done by La Sonora Matancera in a duet-format by a very young Celia Cruz and Bienvenido Granda, is the opener and title of this new production by the veteran New York City-based bandleader/percussionist Johnny Ray and his band Salsa Con Clase. Brilliantly arranged by Nelson Hernández and featuring the vocal talents of Sammy González Jr., this track moves through rhythmic variations tailor-made for salsa dancers of all levels.
