John Schoenecker becomes TEI's newest tax counsel.

John Schoenecker joined the TEI legal team as tax counsel in early August. A trial attorney with the tax division of the U.S. Department of Justice for almost eight years, John has litigated a broad range of tax matters, including those related to foreign tax credits, tax shelters, enforcement, and bankruptcy fraud, among others. Prior to joining DOJ, John practiced law in the Washington, D.C., office of an international law firm. John comes to TEI with a well-developed perspective on the role of government in the tax area and the need to strike a careful balance among tax enforcement, compliance, and service.
