Branch Manager Pam Wentz and Operations Supervisor Jutta Pence are two Alaskans who love this state, and are dedicated to helping those who live and work here. With the January opening of the Johansen Branch, First National's third branch in Fairbanks, they are in a position of opportunity to fulfill this goal.

"Our new branch is centered in a rapidly developing retail and wholesale area," said Senior Vice President Bill Renfrew, who oversees branches in the Interior region of the state. "The construction of this beautiful building really demonstrates our commitment to the people of Fairbanks, and we plan to continue delivering the best service possible to them."

Wentz, who has been with First National for more than 25 years, is excited to watch the area--and the new branch--flourish.

"Just the building alone has a lot to offer in terms of convenience," she said. "It's located in a core area of growth, and has a 24-hour drive-through ATM. The branch is attractive and spacious so our customers can be comfortable inside."

A new feature is the community conference center with a separate entrance, which is available for use by local nonprofit groups.

Pence also is looking forward to seeing how this hub continues to develop. After working in different banks in Alaska, Texas, Washington and Colorado, she found herself hooked on Alaska, and knew this was where she wanted to be. As a part of First National, she is excited to give back to her home community.
