Companies should not assume that their job offer is a candidate's only option, suggests a survey by Robert Half Finance & Accounting, Menlo Park, Calif., which found that 59% of job seekers have received two or more offers simultaneously when applying for new positions. The competition for talent is tough, and candidates rarely wait long when they receive a great offer. Some 58% of professionals surveyed reported making their decision in two or fewer days. The top five reasons job seekers accepted one offer over another include salary, benefits, advancement potential, commute, and the position's responsibilities or challenges.
