Jersey City Medical Center opens Lord Abbett maternity wing.

Jersey City Medical Center officially opened the Lord Abbett Maternity Wing at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 14.

"The partnership of business and health care is critical for the well-being and growth of our community," said Michael Prilutsky, president and chief executive officer, Jersey City Medical Center, a RWJBarnabas Health facility. "Through the generous support and outstanding partnership of Lord Abbett, the Lord Abbett Maternity wing offers a family-centric birthing experience that matches the world-class labor and delivery services available at Jersey City Medical Center," Prilutsky said.

The new wing was made possible through a $1 million donation from Lord, Abbett & Co. an independent, privately-held investment management firm based in Jersey City.

As a firm that believes the strength of the organization is our peopleand the strength of our people is familyI can think of no better way to help kick off our next 90 years than with the opening of the Lord Abbett Maternity Wing at Jersey City Medical Center," said Douglas Sieg, managing partner, Lord Abbett. "Our partnership with Jersey City Medical Center-RWJBarnabas Health to create this state-of-the-art wing is a meaningful demonstration of our long-term commitment to supporting generations of families in this diverse and vibrant community," Sieg said.
