The New Jersey Chapter continued its emphasis on continuing education for tax executives with its line-up of outstanding national and regional speakers. The Chapter kicked off its season with a November 18 Full-Day Fall Seminar at the Hyatt Morristown. The meeting, co-presented by Deloitte Tax LLP, was well attended, drawing a crowd of nearly two hundred tax executives. During the luncheon, David DiFusco, N.J. Market Impact Leader for Deloitte, observed, "We are truly impressed by the turnout of the Jersey Chapter membership. Deloitte is pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this meeting."

The seminar featured concurrent sessions for federal, international, and state & local topics in an open-registration format. Deloitte provided an impressive coterie of speakers, including Rich Heller of its National Solutions Group (Section 199); Sean Dineen, Joel Eisenreich, and Chuong Pham from the New York and Parsippany offices (Executive Compensation); Kevin O'Brien and Norm Lobins (Multi-State Tax Opportunities), Norm Lobins (NJ & NE State Tax Update), Aydin Hayri from Washington National Tax (Transfer Pricing), and Tom J. Hogan from the Parsippany office (Global R&D).

Other speakers included Paul Frankel (Morrison & Foerster), Ed Hammer & Greg Lamont (PwC), Damien Dablain (KPMG), Frank Guerino & Ray Melone (E&Y), Alan Kaden & Richard Wolfe (Fried, Frank, Shriver, Harris & Jacobson), Andy Braiterman & Spencer Harrison (Hughes, Hubbard & Reed), Ed Bernert (Baker & Hostetler), Sandy Fisher (CrossBorder Solutions), and Jim Brakel (Robert A. Brakel & Associates).
