Scope: The Energy Department’s National Nuclear
Security Administration seeks applications for
the Integrated University Program (IUP) Nuclear
Engineering Consortium for Nonproliferation
announcement for a consortium to allow it to receive
and administer funds for student and faculty research,
fellowships and scholarship funding.
Deadline: July 29, 2020.
Funds: $25 million total for up to two awards.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities.
Areas: DOE said the proposed Nuclear Science and
Engineering Consortium for Nonproliferation should
address: producing research results in nuclear science
or engineering of a basic or fundamental nature;
achieving the congressional goals of the IUP to support
the continued development of the nuclear engineering
and science disciplines; enabling collaborative
research relationships between universities, the
DOE National Laboratories and other government
agencies; transitioning basic science and technology
from universities to U.S. government applications;
and motivating talented researchers toward careers
in universities, the DOE National Laboratories and
government agencies with nuclear missions.

Ocean Exploration (DOC)
Scope: The Commerce Department’s National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration seeks applications for
the FY2021 Ocean Exploration announcement for ocean
exploration in waters under U.S. jurisdiction, including
the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone.
Deadline: Oct. 22, 2020.
Funds: $3 million for four to 10 awards of up to
$750,000 with project periods of up to two years.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; nonprot
organizations; and state, local and Native American
tribal governments; among others.
Areas: DOC said proposals may focus on ocean
exploration, technology and marine archeology.

Conservation Innovation—Arkansas (USDA)
Scope: The Agriculture Department’s Natural Resources
Conservation Service seeks applications for the FY2020
Conservation Innovation—Arkansas announcement to
stimulate the development and adoption of innovative
conservation approaches and technologies in
conjunction with agricultural production.
Deadline: June 30, 2020.
Funds: $300,000 total for up to two awards ranging from
$75,000 to $150,000.
Eligibility: U.S.-based nonfederal entities and qualied
individuals for projects carried out in Arkansas.
Areas: USDA said the program funds the development
and eld testing, on-farm research and demonstration,
evaluation or implementation of approaches to
incentivizing conservation adoption, including market-
based and conservation nance approaches; and
conservation technologies, practices and systems.

Equipment Grant Program (USDA)
Scope: The Agriculture Department’s National
Institute of Food and Agriculture seeks applications
for the Equipment Grant Program (EGP) to improve
the quality and expand the scope of fundamental and
applied research at eligible institutions by providing
organizations with opportunities to acquire equipment/
instruments that support the research, research training
and extension goals of the organization.
Deadline: June 23, 2020.
Funds: $4.7 million total for awards of up to $500,000.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities.
Areas: USDA said proposals to the EGP are for the
acquisition of only a single, well-integrated piece
of equipment/instrument. Well-integrated research
instrument means that the ensemble of equipment that
denes the instrument enables a specic fundamental or
applied research experiment in the food and agricultural
sciences, including data science and data systems,
programs to be undertaken; separating or removing an
element or component of such an integrated instrument
would preclude any experiments from occurring or
succeeding.

Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network
(USDA)
Scope: The Agriculture Department’s National Institute
of Food and Agriculture seeks applications for the Farm
and Ranch Stress Assistance Network announcement
