I

am

walking in the

Autumn

of my life.

Each day

I

am

grateful

for the promise of a new day,

A

day that

I

will

befriend and invite to walk

with me.

trying to get my attention by

caressing my cheeks and

painting them with colors like

the resplendent colors of autumn

leaves.

I

feel

the chill wind

The fading balm of

summer still clings to the

chill in the

air

reluctant

to permanently part.

I

am

aware that Winter,

standing in the wings, will

soon take the stage, bringing

with it a cast of cold and

gentle snow intent

on covering the earth with

a

mantle of peace and wonder

as

Nature prepares the world

for the burst and beauty

of

Springtime.

As

I

feel the balm,
