MANUSCRIPT REVIEWERS
As a refereed journal, Human Resource Development Quarterly depends on qual-
ifi ed individuals to serve as manuscript reviewers. Reviewers have a unique
way of contributing to the HRD fi eld in that they help determine the quality
and nature of the research. Reviewers should expect to receive approximately
four manuscripts per volume, although the number may vary depending on
the type of manuscripts received and the individual reviewer’s expertise. Per-
sonal feedback is given to reviewers at the conclusion of each volume.
Individuals who wish to be considered as manuscript reviewers should
take the following actions:
Submit a complete curriculum vitae, listing educational background, pro-
fessional employment, publications and presentations, service to other
journals, and any other relevant information.
Include a statement describing specifi c areas of HRD expertise, such as
cost-benefi t analysis, training transfer, or organizational learning.
Include a statement describing specifi c areas of qualitative research exper-
tise (for example, case study/ies, phenomenology, ethnography, etc).
Include a statement or statements regarding your profi ciency in quantita-
tive data analyses. Consider the following four areas when identifying
your expertise:
1. Specifi cally identify what analyses across the general linear model that
you are comfortable reviewing including and not limited to structural
equation modeling and hierarchical linear modeling.
2. Specifi cally identify what analyses outside the general linear model that
you are comfortable reviewing including and not limited to logistic
regression and predictive discriminant analyses.
3. Specifi cally identify your expertise regarding evaluating validity studies
including but not limited to exploratory factor analyses, confi rmatory
factor analyses, measurement invariance, nomological validity.
4. Specifi cally identify your expertise regarding any other analyses not
previously addressed, especially any cutting-edge quantitative analyses
such as latent semantic analysis.
The editor reviews these materials on a continuous basis, so individuals should
receive immediate notifi cation of their status as a reviewer. Materials should be
e-mailed to hrdq@port.ac.uk.
