Knowledge management is quickly becoming a key link in the chain of organizational success, according to a June 2004 IBM study, "Business KM: A Study on Market Prospects, Business Needs, and Tech Trends."

The 190-page study discusses different perspectives on KM, an overview of the European KM technology market, emerging KM technology market trends, KM business needs and tech trends, and European competitiveness in KM.

According to the report, "KM is a subject which is still highly relevant to innovation in the 21st-century business enterprise.
