IRS seeks applications for the advisory council.

The IRS is accepting applications for the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council, which provides a public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss relevant issues regarding federal tax administration. The council is made up of up to 35 members, who are appointed to three-year terms by the IRS Commissioner. Applications are being accepted through June 17 for roughly a dozen appointments that will begin in January 2012.
