ABA Marketing Network introduces new leadership configuration.

The leadership structure of the ABA Marketing Network has been streamlined for the upcoming year. Three persons will serve on the Marketing Network Council instead of seven, as in the recent past.

The three leaders are Nick Vaglio CFMP, and Elizabeth E. Eckel, CFMP, who will serve as co-chairpersons; and Greg Dufour, who will serve as CEO adviser.

Nick Vaglio is the vice president of wholesale marketing for Wachovia Bank. His office is located in Summit, N.J. Elizabeth Eckel is senior vice president, marketing at The Washington Trust Co., Westerly, R.I. Greg Dufour is president and chief executive officer at Camden National Bank, Camden, Maine.

The change was announced following the ABA Marketing Conference in September.

"Basically, we're moving toward a more informal leadership structure, with volunteers being deployed as needed on specific projects, on a case-by-case basis," says Vaglio. The practice is more in line with that of the American Community Bankers (ACB), the banking association that will merge with the ABA on December 1, he noted. It is anticipated as an indirect result of the merger that the ABA Marketing Network will gain additional members.
