HOLLY TOENJES HAD NO IDEA WHEN she launched her real estate career 30 years ago that she would run one of Colorado's first "full-scope" real estate service companies. Today her Cherry Creek-based In Transit Properties offers a wide variety of services: from sales, to rentals, relocation and property management.

"In 2009, Colorado appointed InTransit Properties as a receiver, meaning we accepted properties in Foreclosure," says Toenjes. "We came in as a vital arm of the industry and worked to save properties from vacancy by reaching out to banks. We secured tenants and made properties sellable."

As a result of die receivership, from 2009 to 2012, InTransit grew 83 percent. "We immediately took on 22 properties, and then rented and ultimately sold every one.
