Intelsat general's sears earns Teets Award.

* Intelsat General Corp. President Kay Sears was the recipient of the Honorable Peter B. Teets Award for 2014. The Space Division of the National Defense Industrial Association presented the award during a ceremony Aug. 3 in Chantilly, Virginia, at the NDIA National Security Space Policy and Architecture Symposium.

This annual citation is the Space Division's highest honor and serves to recognize public and private sector leadership or achievement that results in significant contributions to the development, introduction, operational contribution or support of space systems. Sears is the industry category honoree this year.

She has been a leader for more than 22 years in the satellite communications industry and has extensive experience in delivering rapid-response solutions to both military and civilian agencies of the U.S. government.

Under her leadership, Intelsat has been a leader in technological innovation to better support government customers.
