Kim Perret, chief marketing officer at Jones Walker LLP, has built her career throughout the past 20 years as a respected leader in the legal marketing field. As CMO at one of the largest law firms in the United States, the Louisiana native and 2013 LMA Hall of Fame inductee is a member of the firm's executive management team responsible for directing Jones Walker's overall business development, client service, marketing communications and marketing technology initiatives.

Throughout the years, Perret has worked in various levels of the field, including as director of marketing and client development at Hunton & Williams and then director of marketing and eventually CMO at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP. in these positions, she strategically created programs that ensured each firm's marketing success and awareness.

Perret says that one constant throughout her career has been her involvement with LMA. in 2001, she was elected to two successive terms as president of the LMA Capital Chapter, and in 2006, she served as LMA president. How does it feel to be a Hall of Famer?

It is such an honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year and a highlight of my career. The letters written in support of my nomination by my mentors, colleagues and those I've mentored through the years mean the world to me and are great "pick me ups" on the roughest of days.

What has been the best part of your career so far?

Since we are in a relationship business, I will have to say the many wonderful relationships that I've formed with the people I've worked with throughout these many years, partners in my firms and colleagues in the industry.
