ConocoPhillips Alaska
Production has begun at another satellite of ConocoPhillips' Alpine field. The company announced in May that crude began flowing from Fiord West Kuparuk in the Colville River Unit on state land just east of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. Doyon Drilling's rig, nicknamed "The Beast," set a record for extended-reach drilling of 35,526 feet when it drilled the well a month earlier.
