NDIA's Manufacturing Division continues to move forward. During a quarterly meeting on May 31 and June 1, approximately 30 senior manufacturing leaders met and agreed upon a committee structure and objectives.

The division is organized into five functional committees: technology for manufacturing, manufacturing workforce, Defense Department supply chain management, partnering in manufacturing and manufacturing legislative issues. In addition to receiving reports from each of the committees, the agenda included presentations from both industry and government on various topics of common interest.

A key action taken by the division was an agreement to publicize defense manufacturing support for the recommendations contained in the recently published Defense Science Board Study on Manufacturing Technology.
