Retired Army Maj. Gen. Robert L. Nabors has been selected to lead a homeland security program for EDS, in Herndon, Va. Nabors, who joined EDS in October as vice president for enterprise solutions, will oversee EDS's homeland security-related service to federal, state and local governments.

SYTEX Inc. has promoted Alan Zimmerman to senior director of the technology integration division of its special operations, based in Vienna, Va. Zimmerman came to SYTEX in 2000 as the principle engineer and technologist supporting the Army's Biometrics Management Office. As senior director, he will oversee four technology teams, including Internet applications, advanced presentations, biometrics, and tagging and authentication.

Matthew J. Mulherin has been named sector vice president of the CVNX program for Northrop Grumman Corporation's Newport News sector. This program includes design and engineering work for the Navy's new class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. Mulberin is responsible for program management, engineering, production and planning for the CVNX. Previously, he served as program director for the project.
