Winter fun in the Hoosier state

HOLIDAYS IN NASHVILLE

In the rolling hills of Brown County, the winter season is popular in Nashville, A month-long holiday celebration began in late November and runs through Christmas. From art shows to theatrical performances, antique and craft shopping to deer petting and visits with Santa, this community draws families from around the state.

Consider dining at one of Brown County restaurants, With hearty home-cooked meals and gourmet specialties, restaurants such as The Harvest, Accent Dining, The Ordinary and The Nashville House satisfy Brown County visitors. Accommodations in Brown County include the Seasons Lodge and Conference Center and the Brown County Inn. Each boasts cozy rooms with private parlors, wood-burning fireplaces and a scenic view of the hills of Brown County.

Hotel Nashville, on a hilltop overlooking downtown Nashville, decorates for the holidays. Its suites, pool and sauna offer comfort and luxury after a long day of shopping or skiing. Its scenic dining room has views of the town and the Brown County hills.

The Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County State Park is situated among 15,000 acres of wooded hills. The lodge was named after a colorful Brown County character who was a regular in The Indianapolis News from 1905 to 1930. Activities such as hiking, fishing and wildlife exhibits draw patrons to the park year round. DISCOVER COLUMBUS

In Columbus, you'll find world-class architecture and a downtown area that hosts numerous specialty shops from antiques to "uniques." At the Prime Outlet mall, north of town you can find gift ideas at a discount.
