INDEX Americas Sustainability Award 2018.


Under the auspices of the Inter-American Development Bank, Latin Trade presented the award during the bank's annual meeting, held in Mendoza, Argentina. The companies that received prizes in the different categories were: AES, Globant, Johnson & Johnson, Telefonica and Valeo.


The mountain range of the Andes was the most appropriate locale for celebrating the environment and sustainable development and, in its foothills in the Argentine city of Mendoza, the LT IndexAmericas Sustainability Award 2018 was given.

In this first edition of the award, 15 companies were finalists among the 6,000 that comprise the IndexAmerica developed by the Inter-American Development Bank. The winners in 2018, recognized for their exceptional work in Latin America in the five established categories, are:

Social Innovation: Aes Corp

Corporate Governance: Johnson & Johnson

Development: Telefonica

Multilatinas: Globant

Environment: Valeo

With this prize, which will be awarded each year, Latin Trade seeks to highlight and disseminate the best practices of sustainability and the contribution the largest companies make to economic development in our region. Thus, we celebrate the best from this year and issue the challenge for the 2019 prize.
