Doris Harriet Cole, 64, passed away March 13 at her home in Encino following a battle with ovarian cancer.

Cole earned her bachelor's degree in education from Northwestern University and taught in the Chicago public schools. She continued her education at California State University, Northridge, earning master degrees in special education and accounting. She had been a CPA in private practice since 1986.

"Doris had a great sense of humor," says Encino-based CPA Carolyn Fox. "Anytime you had a conversation with her you'd leave with a smile on your face. She was also incredibly intelligent and a real fighter no matter what happened to her."
