Dolly, the sheep who made history as the first clone from a mammal, and gave rise to fears of human cloning, died at her home in Edinburgh, Scotland, last month after developing a lung Infection. She was 6.

Dolly, who like many sheep went by only one name, was created by cloning the stored and frozen udder cells of a sheep that had been dead for years. As a clone, she was its identical twin.

It is not clear how long Dolly might have been expected to live...
