Albert Lax, a CalCPA board member from 1988-99, died March 21. He was 76.

A CalCPA member since 1956, Lax served in numerous CalCPA leadership roles, often as an advocate for sole practitioners.

In addition to his work on CalCPA's board, Lax served on the Los Angeles Chapter Board of Directors from 1987-98, serving as treasurer and vice president at various times.

He also served on numerous chapter and state committees, including the MAP Committee, the Sole Practitioners Committee and the Member Insurance Benefits Committee, and was chair of the chapter's Practitioner Emergencies Committee for many years.
