John G. Aris, a retired member of the Institute, died recently at the age of 85. Mr. joined TEI's New York Chapter in 1965, while employed at Sperry Rand Corporation. He received his B.B.A. degree from Pace College, and his M.B.A. from Baruch School of Business (City College of New York). He served in the U.S. Army duing World War II. In 1966 he moved to Martin Marietta Corporation (then in New York City). In 1973, Mr. Aris joined Carrier Corporation and transferred his membership to the Syracuse Chapter, where he served in numerous positions, including Chapter President and Chapter Representative to the Institute's Board of Directors. Later in his career, Mr. Aris worked for United Technologies Corporation (which had acquired Carrier) and transferred to the Connecticut Valley Chapter. Upon his retirement in 1992, he became an associate member.
