IN MEMORIAM

By Arthur L. Fine

June 21, 1932-September 21, 2018

Arthur Fine died on September 21 after a brief illness. Art, a third-generation Coloradan, was born in Denver in 1932. He came from a pioneering Jewish Colorado family. His grandfather Louis Fine immigrated to Colorado in 1895 and was the director of the Jewish agricultural colony in Atwood.

Art graduated from Denver East High School, Harvard University, and Harvard Law School. Between college and law school, Art served in the U.S. Army. He married Janet Kramer in 1959, and they were happily married until his death. Art practiced law in Denver before becoming a Denver County Court judge. He was very proud of his low attorney registration number. He was active in politics and his religious congregation, and he volunteered tutoring schoolchildren. He loved the area around Oak Creek, Colorado, where he spent a lot of time.

He is survived by his wife Janet; his sister Judy Cohen; his children David (Stephanie Wasserman), Rachel, and Louis; and his grandchildren Natalie and Gabe. He inspired his son David and his granddaughter Natalie to become attorneys. He loved his family above all.
