Furman B. Whitescarver, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2018. Born March 17, 1933, and forever after known as Pat, he served as Commissioner of Accounts for Roanoke County and the City of Salem since 1977. Pat was appointed after the death of his father, who had served in the same role since 1925.
