Marc A. Chorney

October 30, 1951-June 14, 2020

Marc A. Chorney passed away on June 14, 2020, at age 68, from the effects of longstanding Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Esther and Thomas A. Chorney. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, his law degree from Gonzaga University, and an LL.M in taxation from the University of Denver.

Marc was a senior partner of Chorney & Millard, LLP. Before retirement, he was of counsel to Wade Ash Woods Hill & Farley, PC. He was a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel (ACTEC); his many contributions to the organization included serving as chair of the Communications Committee and editor of the ACTEC Journal. He was also active in the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section and served as acquisitions editor for the section's Real Property and Probate Law Journal.

Marc had a reputation, both nationally and locally, for his knowledge and expertise about the characterization of beneficial trust interests in connection with dissolution of marriage proceedings. He was highly sought after as an expert witness, conducted numerous legal educational programs in the area, and wrote the book on the subject, Trusts in Divorce Property Divisions, published by CLE in Colorado, Inc. Marc was a "lawyer's lawyer" whose counsel was sought by colleagues both near and far.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Chorney; daughters, Anna Merritt, Ph.D., and Elizabeth Chorney, M.D.; two sons-in-law, Scott Merritt, PhD., and Hao Tran, D.D.S.; and three grandchildren, Alex Merritt, Elliott Tran, and Avery Tran.

Michael Lance Glaser Sr.

June 9, 1939-August 27, 2020

Michael Lance Glaser Sr. of Denver passed away peacefully on August 27, 2020, with family by his side.

Mike was born in Washington, D.C., on June 9,1939, to the late Theodore and Margaret (Bielaski) Glaser. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC, where he played varsity foot ball and basketball. Mike received his BA in economics from George Washington University in 1961. He married his wife, the late Catherine (Cathie) Mary (Connor) on June 16, 1962, his soul mate for 53 years. In 1965 he graduated with honors from George Washington University School of Law. Mike entered private practice in Washington, D.C., in 1966, initially concentrating in communications law. He and his family moved to Colorado in 1983, where he continued to practice law until his passing. Mike was a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Colorado. He was a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling both domestically and abroad.

He is preceded in death by his brother Robert A. Glaser. He is survived by his loving children, Michael L. Glaser, Jr., Casey L. Glaser (Marty Trevino), Shannon M. Thiesenhusen (Craig), Timothy E. Glaser (Cyndi), and Regan M. Glaser-Hovasse (Charlie); his beautiful grandchildren, Ryan and Shain Glaser and Savannah and Cole Thiesenhusen; and his brother Stephen A. Glaser (Kathy).

Sharon L. Hansen

March 31, 1950-February 2021

The Honorable Sharon L. Hansen passed away in February 2021. Judge Hansen was a longtime district court judge for Colorado's 22nd Judicial District Court (Dolores and Montezuma counties), where she served as chief judge until her retirement from the bench in 2010. She was a graduate of Colorado State University and the University of Denver College of Law (JD '77).
