Thomas J. Lange, Jr.

July 12, 1968-January 24, 2019

Thomas Lange, Jr., of Montrose, passed away on January 24, 2019. He was born on July 12, 1968, in Staten Island, New York. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1991 and from Thomas Cooley Law School in 1998. He moved to Colorado in 2006 and worked for Fleming & Associates, LLP and Conerly & Callahan, LLC, until opening his own self-tided law practice, where he worked until his untimely death.

Thomas loved being an attorney, his four beautiful children, and helping others. He enjoyed going to baseball games, rooting for the Yankees, watching crime investigation shows, listening to grunge music, coaching soccer and baseball, playing with his dog, and eating cheese.

He is survived by his mother, Jane Lange of Holland, Michigan; his brother, Tim Lange of Holland, Michigan; his four children, John Lange, Kylie Lange, Maya Lange, and Ma Lange, all of Montrose; his ex-wife and always best friend, Justine Jacobi of Montrose; his partner in crime and good friend, Christopher Gibson of Montrose; and his sausage dog, Mr. Weenie. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Lange, Sr. A celebration of his life was held on January 30.

Anthony Colby van Westrum

April 10, 1944-January 20, 2019

Anthony "Tony" van Westrum, of Golden, Colorado, passed away on January 20,2019, while doing what he loved: hiking in the beautiful Colorado mountains with his camera. Tony was an accomplished attorney who will be greatly missed by his colleagues at the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.

Tony was born on April 10, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan. He was admitted to practice in Colorado in 1969 and practiced with Davis Graham & Stubbs in Denver for the next two decades before joining Burns, Wall and Mueller P.C., where he remained of counsel for many years. Tony began his solo practice in 1994, focusing on corporate and business law, arbitration and mediation in commercial transactions, and expert witness and consulting services in business matters and in ethics and professional misconduct...
