Local Bar Award of Achievement
The Local Bar Award of Achievement recognizes local bars for their outstanding contributions to their communities. Awards will be presented during the Alabama State Bar's Annual Meeting.
Local bar associations compete for these awards based on their size-large, medium, or small.
The following criteria are used to judge the applications: • The degree of participation by the individual bar in advancing programs to benefit the community;
• The quality and extent of the impact of the bar's participation on the citizens in that community; and
• The degree of enhancements to the bar's image in the community.

Position Available
Assistant Reporter of Decisions, Alabama Appellate Courts
Starting date for position is expected to be September 1, 2020. Applicants must be members of the Alabama State Bar; an undergraduate or a graduate degree in English helpful but not required; experience in editing preferred. Requires knowledge of legal-citation formats and strict attention to detail. The assistant reporter is a full-time employee expected to work in the Heflin-Torbert Judicial Building in Montgomery and not remotely. Salary range for this position is $61,024 to $97,696, depending on experience and ability.
