Financial Executives International's (FEE) greatest strength is its membership, which includes a deep and experienced bench of financial professionals across industries, sectors and borders. For many of you this is proven each day as you network with your FEI peers and develop long-lasting professional relationships.

Networking isn't just about career development. It's also about being able to listen to others that have shared experiences, faced similar technical challenges and learned valuable lessons. There are great opportunities, particularly at the local chapter level, to conduct incredible one-on-one sessions with colleagues and learn from their experiences.

The FEI network has been put to great use nationally with two of our organization's main goals: education and advocacy. We are the association of choice for financial executives and the preparer community as they deal with the numerous and rapidly-changing regulations and accounting standards.

The ability to collaborate with peers on employing impending changes--as well as making the voices of the profession heard in Washington, D.C., and across the globe, as appropriate--brings real and lasting value to all our members.

Keeping Up With Rapid Changes

We have been hard at work making sure that members are kept up to date.

In June, FEI held a well-attended meeting in New York City on the much anticipated standards around revenue recognition. The meeting was a terrific forum for our community to discuss the draft proposals and get a deep dive into their meaning.

But there is so much more work ahead, as our members here in the U.S. and overseas, prepare to implement these standards. FEI's Revenue Recognition Working Group will continue its mission as the new rules are implemented over the next several years.
