EVER SINCE OPRAH showed television viewers her results from a full-body scan a few years ago, full scans have boomed from one to two per week to four to five per day at Colorado Heart and Body Imaging, says Dr. James Ehrlich, medical director of the imaging center.

Funny thing is, Ehrlich doesn't recommend the procedure

"In California, this is a lifestyle decision," Ehrlich said. "In Denver, we're trying to make it a medical decision."

Ehrlich, a former Denver anesthesiologist, now is involved in two other imaging centers around the country and hopes to open three more, including one in Switzerland and a second Denver center in Cherry Creek.
