As the move toward convergence of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles with International Financial Reporting Standards looms large, FERF is launching a series of reports that will examine IFRS from a number of different perspectives:
* IFRS: How U.S. Companies Can Get Started--the first report to be released--is based on a roundtable discussion at a recent meeting of FEI's Committee on Corporate Reporting (CCR). The report will describe the experiences of large publicly held companies that are planning for IFRS adoption.
* IFRS for Privately Held Companies focuses on interviews with members of FEI's Committee on Private Companies (CPC), bankers and key members of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and International Accounting Standards Board. Though private companies are not subject to the SEC's roadmap for accounting standards convergence, they need to be aware of the pros and cons of IFRS adoption.
