Yancey Memorial Award

The Yancey Memorial Award is bestowed annually on the author or authors of the best article published in Defense Counsel Journal in the previous year, as determined by the Yancey Memorial Award Committee. The award for the best article published in Defense Counsel Journal in 2003 goes to Kathleen L. Blaner for "The Emperor Has no Clothes: How Courts Deny Protection for Confidential Information," which appeared in the January 2003 issue of Defense Counsel Journal, page 12.

Legal Writing Contest

The International Association of Defense Counsel Legal Writing Content is conducted annually and is open to J.D. candidates enrolled in law schools accredited by the American Bar Association or in Canadian law schools listed in the Association of American Law Schools Directory. The Judges Committee announces the following monetary winners and honorable mentions in the 2004 Legal Writing Contest:

First place (US$2,000) and plaque--Daniel London, Brooklyn Law School, "Red Riding Hood Is an Economic Loss Tortfeasor: Three Courts, the Negligence Woods and the Economic Loss."
