An excellent piece! ("The Emerging Environmental Majority," May). As a life-long fisherman, hunter, whitewater-canoer, forager and bird-watcher, I have always felt that concern for the environment is a bridge-building issue cutting across many sorts of divides. This article does an excellent job of summarizing the history of the American environmental/conservation movement.
