HIV Infection of the Central Nervous System (NIH)
Scope: The National Institutes of Health seeks
applications for the HIV Infection of the Central Nervous
System (CNS) announcement to stimulate further
research on delineating the pathophysiology of HIV-1-
associated CNS disease in the setting of chronic viral
suppression and antiretroviral therapy (ART).
Deadline: Sept. 7, 2020; Jan. 7, 2021; and May 7, 2021.
Funds: The number of awards depends on
appropriations and the submission of a sufficient
number of quality applications. The maximum project
period is ve years.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; for-prot
organizations, including small businesses; nonprot
organizations; and state, local, special district and Native
American tribal governments; among others.
Areas: NIH said research areas include but are not
limited to: pathogenesis of HIV-1-associated CNS
disease in the context of ART, mechanisms underlying
mental health disorders in people living with HIV,
neuroimaging studies, host genetics, preclinical
research and viral genetics, among others.

Human Tracking Youth Prevention Education
Demonstration Grants (ACL)
Scope: The Administration for Children and Families
seeks applications for the Human Trafficking
Youth Prevention Education Demonstration Grants
announcement to develop and implement programs to
prevent human trafficking victimization.
Deadline: July 31, 2020.
Funds: $3.5 million for up to six awards ranging from
$400,000 to $600,000.
Eligibility: Local educational agencies.
Areas: ACL said the following activities are required:
provide human trafficking education that equips
educators and other staff to identify and respond to
signs that students are at high risk of or are currently
experiencing human trafficking, and deliver student
human trafficking prevention education that is designed
to build student resilience to labor trafficking and sex
trafficking by strengthening student knowledge and
skills, among others.
