The Human Systems Division is being organized to promote the exchange of technical information and discussions between government, industry, and academia, and the expansion of research and development in areas related to the human as a system whose performance must be integrated into any system of systems. To this end, the Human Systems Division will serve as an infrastructure by providing a variety of ways for government, industry, and academia to act in concert to advance human performance in air, land, sea, space, and cyberspace environments through research, education, and consultation.

To achieve success in carrying out its mission the following objectives will govern the operations of the Human Systems Division:

* Advocate human-centered research and the integration of cognitive and biological technologies to optimize and protect the warfighter's capabilities to successfully operate in air, land, sea, space and cyberspace environments,

* Promote discussions about the circumstances that make the "human factor" a top priority in Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E),
