Janitors at the University of Miami voted to go on strike over unfair labor practices on February 26. The janitors are employed by UNICCO and make as little as $6.40 an hour and lack health benefits, according to the Service Employees International Union.

The National Labor Relations Board recently accused UNICCO of violating the rights of janitors seeking to form a union. The company denies the allegations.
