Here's a heads-up for CFOs: Human resource practitioners are being encouraged to broaden their sphere of influence, citing expansion of the CFO role as their inspiration, according to panelists at a June symposium in New York on the changing role of HR. The symposium was sponsored by Marsh Inc. and the Five O'Clock Club, a coaching and outplacement firm. Human resource executives "should be viewed as equal to the CFO and should speak the CFO's language," said panelist Wendy Murphy, partner and global practice head for recruiter Heidrick & Struggles.
