HPU 'goes green' with recycling competition, earth week and Arbor Day celebrations.

In an ongoing effort to enhance the sustainability practices on campus and raise awareness for environmental challenges, High Point University students hosted Earth Week April 18-22.

As part of the Earth Week celebration, the university hosted special events to highlight opportunities to help save our planet, which included tie-dying T-shirts to raise environmental awareness, an environmental showcase that featured more than 20 local organizations and businesses, an Arbor Day celebration, and a selection of locally grown foods in the cafe.

Eric Muecke, from the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources, also presented the university with the Tree Campus USA award at the Arbor Day celebration, hosted by HPU First Lady Mariana Qubein.
