The Compass Experiment is a laboratory for McClatchy to try different products and revenue models. Our intention is to be nimble enough to be able to quickly launch, test and, if need be, change business strategies at our three launch sites. If an approach isn't working, we can throw it out and start something different. We will share what we learn from those tests with McClatchy's 30 newsrooms along with the larger news industry to help other local operators navigate their way to a sustainable future for local journalism.
